Nothing to Envy

It tells the story of five real North Koreans, from they trying to survive inside the regime to their escape. Since these individuals has different ages, you got to see the North Korea system slow deterioration.

It is quite a harrowing read. It shows the brutality of living with nothing to eat, and no one safe to talk to. Authoritarian systems can really harm their people and continue to exist for generations.

At one point, one of the individuals crosses into China. There, he finds a bowl of food on the ground and begins devouring it. Then he hears barking; Even the dogs in rural China were better fed than the North Koreans.
